2. Se7en (1995)

Se7en or Seven is an American Thriller released in the year 1995 was directed by David Fincher.

In this movie, David Mills and Somerset are two cops who investigate a series of brutal murders of people based on the seven deadly sins. At the very first murder, audience will know that all the murders will be related to the seven sins namely gluttony, envy, lust, pride, sloth, greed and wrath. But how each murder is going to take place remains suspense all through the movies!

3. Silence of the Lambs (1991)

Silence of the Lambs, released in 1991 was inspired by the novel Silence of the Lambs. The movie was directed by Jonathan Demme and was the proud winner of Top Five Academy Awards.

The movie revolves around an FBI Agent Clarice Sterling, trying to get hold of a Serial Killer known by the name Buffalo Bill and who kills and skins women. She gets help from an already imprisoned serial killer Dr. Lecter.

4. Sixth Sense (1999)

The Sixth Sense which released in 1999 has been directed by M Night Shyamalan. This movie tells the story of a little boy named Cole who has a troubled childhood because of his ability to communicate with spirits.

5. The Usual Suspects (1995)

The Usual Suspects directed by Bryan Singer was released in the year 1995. A murder takes place aboard a ship. A faceless figure Keyser is shown to kill a man. Next day the FBI Agents arrive to investigate and interrogate the survivors in the ship. The movie has successfully retained the suspense about who the actual murderer is till the end.

6. Primal Fear (1996)

The Primal Fear was released in 1996 and it is inspired from the novel by the same name. The movie was directed by Gregory Hoblit.

The defense attorney Martin Vail is posed with the challenge of saving a young boy Aaron Stampler who has been convicted of murdering the Catholic Archbishop. It is a must watch movie for all ardent suspense lovers.

7. Rear Window (1954)

Rear Window is yet another Alfred Hitchcock creation released in 1954. The movie is about how a wheelchair ridden photographer helps to identify and investigate a murder that occurs in the house opposite his window.

8. What lies Beneath? (2000)

This movie was directed by Robert Zemeckis and released in 2000. ‘What lies Beneath?’ falls into both horror and suspense genres. It is the story about a couple Claire Spencer and Dr. Norman Spencer living comfortably in a house till Claire starts feeling that the house is haunted. She starts investigating more about who she is being haunted by and why?

9. Fight Club (1999)

Fight Club is directed by David Fincher and released in 1999. It has been inspired from the novel by the same name.  The story is about Tyler Durden and an unnamed protagonist who start a Fight Club to help people vent out their frustrations. It later turns out to be something very disastrous.

10. The Others (2001)

The Others directed by Alejandro Amenabar, released in 2001 can be categorized as both horror and suspense movie.  It is the story about a lonely woman who stays in a huge house alone with her two children who are allergic to sun. Very soon the three realize they are not alone in the house.
